Hello. My name is Lois. I’ve always thought of it as an “old aunt” name, but while I am an aunt, I’m not old. At least I don’t think so.
I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for 29 years. We have two daughters, ages 21 and 18.
My heap of curly brown hair doesn’t say a lot about me (other than it’s usually impossible for me to follow current hair trends), while my daughters’ locks—thick, straight, shiny black—are a beautiful indication of where and how I became a mama. (In China. Via international adoption.)
I’m a Midwestern girl who spent her college and first dozen adult years in Northwest Arkansas. I now live near Kansas City, about 10 miles from my childhood home. I never thought I’d be back, but I’m glad I am.
In a past life, I worked as a business journalist and wrote two books. I believe that everything in life has a point, whether or not we can see it at the time.
